As the SPA wanted to wait until after the Super 11s in Ayr to make sure everything was ok by the players before we went ahead and booked the next event in Nov.

The Super 15s A event will once again be held at Haven on Nov the 18th/20th.

The Super 15s B event will be held at Pettycur Bay on Nov 25/27th.

How did the last meeting go did the reps bring back the findings from their leagues with regard to possible changes for the super
events.

Nothing about any changes Renzie.

I informed the SPA reps that if after the next Haven event in Nov, they are not happy, we will not be going back there in Nov.

The event in March is always good as the staff are not tired, the drinks and food are all ok, the accommodation may not be the best but again in March we have few complaints.

I still feel that the SPA TC must look at the way the B event is run and who can play in it.

Ross it was agreed at the meeting the reps would ask their leagues players about possible reconstruction of the super events and report
the results back at the last meeting. Obviously it was not brought up
at the meeting which amazes me because if the reps had lobbied their leagues they would have had their findings with them.

As the Poll indicates once again Renzie, the majority are happy the way the events are just now.

You are right Renzie but none of the reps said anything about changes, very few reps there.

That is the best answer you have given in a long time Renzie, no matter what the polls say, it will be up to the players to inform their area reps to change things.

The SPA website is fantastic, to inform our members what is happening, dates etc but in no way shape or form will anything on here voted by people we really don't know change the way the SPA make really important decisions.

Lets just say that Maxi did a poll on the choice policy and over 50% people backed to change it, would it then be passed at a meeting because of this, no way.

It is very important that each league votes to have a rep that will do what his/her players want, these reps give up a LOT of their time traveling to meetings and staying there, some it will take all day to do this, they do it because of their love of pool, should then they just do what the majority of players who vote want or do they go by what their members want.

In saying all that I never voted but I still think the way forward for the SPA is to have the TC come up with new ideas for the Supers, does that count as a vote now?

It's good to see you hold the opinions of fellow site users as nothing.

I'll remember that the next time you lose a vote at a meeting and try to drum up support on here like others tried recently.

Why are you confusing polls with votes!

Poll - Definition: A sampling or collection of opinions on a subject, taken from either a selected or random group of persons, as for the purpose of analysis.

So they don't stand for nothing! They inform us as to what the majority opinion is from the selected group. No-one is suggesting that they hold any particular authority, but dismissing them is dismissing the opinions of some of the membership.

I would say though that until you have advance notice of meeting agendas and voting taking place at subsequent meeting to which an item is raised and discussed, then you can hardly say that votes at meeting by reps can be representative of the opinions of the member as a whole. Unless your reps are mind-readers of course.
