  challenge match night
by: Pat Holtz, 03-02-2013 11:41 PM (#421)

I would guess the following winners:

Danny Lunn
Lee Killen
Graham Dunbar
Jimmy Pollock
Ants Morrison

This is just my personal opinion from what I have saw but wish all competitors the best of luck as that (and bottle) will be the prevailing factors on the day.

Enjoy!

Good post slack. I 100% agree we will be the first finished lol. Won't be much tactical stuff I wouldn't think. I am also looking forward to the match. Will get a catch up wi you on Saturday. PS, I'm not buying this whole your not playing much or as good as you were lol. I know how good you can be and hope its a good match.

I'm not even going to predict the winners. To close for me.

As long as its a good day, everyone enjoys it and matches are played in a good spirit that's the main thing.

Good luck to all.

Ryan
Lee
Dunny
Jimmy
Marc

Think that both the flemings will be hard to beat on their home patch, depends on what anton shows up same goes with slack.

Looking forward to saturday to have a few pints and a game for a decent amount which I have never done before,no idea how I will react to the money situation but couldn't really care about it tbh I just want to win for me,and prove I can actually beat one of the top under 23s in scotland who plays tournaments consistently!! All the best to everyone and I hope there's no bitterness after the matches and everyone can chill have a good night after all its only a game!!

Spot on Dean, dont think there will be any bitterness, theres no need for it, after all, at the end of the day it should be all about "friendly banter" through "friendly rivalry"
In all the many times i've been to The Old Mill, i've never heard a word spoken in anger (dont think Dek calling himself a p***k for ANOTHER twitch counts)
See yous on Saturday, if not before. Wink

Well said Dean it will be a good night regardless unless u start dishing cos the crowd wont be happy watching me fudge break, Big Rosco will be loving it right enough Grin

Just out of curiosity, its a 20 max bet at laddys
Whats stopping me walking in 20 on back in another 20 etc so in theory you can realy bet what u want just get others to go in if they refuse to serve you

You are even money, surely you'll get an even money bet in the venue if you want one.

On the Lads point though surely once they hit a ton or so they'd stop taking bets and prob after 2 or 3 they'd cut the odds unless Deano was being backed in too.

I think what Derek has done here and what he is going to do is great for the game of pool.

I have been in touch with a few other clubs that want to do the same thing. If we can get dates that do not clash with events.

So in the past few weeks we have had this format and of course Furrys format for events, which I believe will be used a lot from now on.

Nothing to stop you getting someone else to bet for you. There will be plenty side bets on the day am sure.

Thanks for all kind words boys . Slack, that was pretty good post son and deans too. Makes a change to see some sensible posts instead of usual bitterness. Lookng forward to good day. Always a warm welcome up here to anybody that can play good pool. Should be really good atmosphere once I get the boogie box pumping for Marc anr Antz entrance. Lol. Have heard from lots of players about the matches and I honestly coulld not say which way they will go apart from first one. But if marc plays anything like he has been, antz is in for a match. Only hope both play open pool. I know its a lot of money but crowds will always react better to flowing pool rather than negative. Think jimmy v anton will be cracker as both will plat attacking. Same with dean and lees game. Never saw dunny playbtactical in my life so that will be a quick one. Lol. Ryan does not play anything but attacking also so all in all some great matches ahead. Thanks to all players who have made it happen. Don't think we have had so much interest in an event for quite a while. The work I put in is all worth it if it goes well. I can only imagine how Ross feels doing it every week. Have been watching the snooker and pool recently with the music walk ons and think it really adds something to n event . Going to give it a go on sat.Antz, pm your tune and no football ones. They are banned. And watch out for the pakora at the break, they may be laced. Lol. See you all sat.Wink

Yes you're spot on Derek!!
....Oh, by the way, i've not given up the hope yet, of waking up in the Bahamas on Xmas morning next 2 Cheryl Cole, while Gordon Ramsay shouts in "keep the fu***n noise down, the least yous 2 can do is stop sh**ging while i'm cooking your breakfast!!"

I know its a lot of money but crowds will always react better to flowing pool rather than negative
Surely the crowds will be "all flowed out" by then Derek, with all these earlier attacking matches?
Just for you though mate, i'll keep it flowing..........
How does along the same lines as Kojaks hair sound for you mate?
Ah well, better bring a good book, just in case. Wink!
