IMO Ben has to be fav for this with his experience and knowledge of the game.

Mark is a decent player but hasn't got the all round game to match Ben over this distance.

Ben has been there and done it at the top of BB and WR, his class, ability and bottle is without question.

I'm surprised this game has been arranged and reminds me of Jayson's challenges against experienced opposition in Ronan and Farnsworth.

Should be a good spectacle for those in attendance!

I was wondering when this would be brought back up, but yet no one else who said Ben would win has been. clap

You soon find out the snakes out there hiding in the grass.

Nice to see you wanted the thread deleted prior to the match, and duly started a new thread. Looks like I hit a nerve with my match opinion of both players.

Money matches are who plays best on the day, and it was Mark's day yesterday. Tomorrow it could be Ben's, and that's one off money games for you. Of course you would know this with your track record of backing players in money games.

One thing I have never done pat is hide and be a snake, lots of people thought Ben was favourite and your right today he could have maybe been better. But for a man of your class to make a statement of mark is a DECENT player at a time when he was no1 in the country was IMO wrong and he proved yesterday and has done for past few years he is a little bit more than DECENT.

As to my record in money matches it can't be that bad otherwise you maybe have took up my offer before the Ben match.

Has Mark beat Pat in competition then?

We are blessed in Scotland to have so many talented players, and they are all capable of beating each other on their day.

Without doubt Mark has shown the best form this year in Scotland winning all those IM's and then the Scottish, but Pat has not done too badly himself with an IM win and then getting to the final of the main event at the first IPA Tour, and that's with all their pro's in it.

It saddens me when all this bickering goes on from people who don't play pool at a high level feel the need to have a dig which is unwarranted.

If you's want to slag a guy off then have the balls to put the dough up and challenge him yourself.

This should be a time for congratulations for Mark, not point scoring.

I only seen about 10-15 frames on Saturday and Mark was absolutely awesome, didn't see him missing a ball, was extremely clinical in his finishing. I kept getting asked who would win and I honestly couldn't say who, I know Mark won't miss when the balls are all there in front of him, but Ben has that extra flair to his game that can take finishes from nowhere, but that flair also leads to the odd mistake and that's why I couldn't pick a winner, if Ben produces his very best he would be very hard to beat, but having seen the form Mark was in I don't think it would have changed the result. Don't think anyone could have beat Mark on Saturday on that form.

Superb Mark, extremely chuffed for you clap

Just a pity others don't have your class.
