Below are some of the results from the survey on scottishpool.org
It was set up primarily to demonstrate to SPA officials how the different features available from this survey software might be used to gather statistics about players. It's up to the SPA to decide if they want to use the software in the future. With a little imagine in designing such surveys they could prove a useful means of gathering information about the views of SPA members.
Over 60 players have completed this demo survey, though not every question was answered by every player.
Responses to the statement... "The SPA's International teams should receive 1/7th of the SPA Individual Membership total entry fees for the year"
were....
Responses to the statement... "The introduction of the spotted white cue ball for all Scottish Pool Association run events, including qualifiers, is a great idea"
were....
Responses to the statement... "On the new website a single league representative from each affiliated league should be able to vote in policy making polls on behalf of their league."
were....
Vast majority of players in favour of league reps voting online on behalf of their leagues.... but it's far from clear if the SPA executive are still committed to this.
Responses to the statement... "Pub pool is in decline and the future of the sport increasingly depends upon clubs and pool halls providing multiple tables."
were....
It's certainly the case in my area where many pubs have closed over recent years and a pool hall provides the venue for the vast majority of league events.
The only thing which I am unsure about is the Neutral option, what benefit does that bring as anyone voting Neutral is effectively wasting their vote so what's the point of having that as an option in that case?
As a neutral vote could be used by both camps, the agree and disagree bunch.
And if there were 24 agree and 24 disagree would you then decide on which group had the most strongly disagrees or strongly agrees?
The exec are fully behind online votes, but only for the online rep to vote just now.

The exec can put any options they wish in polls and surveys.
I look forward to the exec designing a survey which I can place online for them.

If the exec are genuinely behind online votes why don't they ensure every league is represented and start using the system?
I don't believe for a minute the exec are behind the development site. In fact I think the SPA organisation is so dysfunctional there's little hope of the features on the site ever being used. I had lots of plans for hosting SPA websites and providing functionality on the development site but I really don't see it ever happening.... it's clear that the exec are either unable or unwilling to co-operate.
In fact you did say elsewhere that you were not able to get the support from the exec to start using online polls when you suggested it at a meeting!
I've asked this a dozen times. Who is responsible within the exec to ensure that every league has an online rep?
It's no good bringing the issue up at meetings if not all leagues are represented at these meetings.
So what exactly has been done so far by the SPA?
League officials who still have to provide a rep need to be contacted directly.
Who's job is that?
OK... example... I have been waiting for Inverness to appoint a rep since first contacting that league in May.
(I have sent several PMs and emails to Inverness officials.... though that's certainly not my job.)
So who on the exec is now going to contact (email, or phone if necessary) Inverness officials and ask when or if they are prepared to nominate a league rep?
It's a straightforward question. Who is going to do it????
All communication should be the role of the secretary
