by: snadz, 05-05-2016 11:59 AM (#241)

Its okay weeksy we are diwn to 4 players now as we are not akliwed a superstar in our team, played in this event for the kast 6 years with nearly the same team and all guys from the shire,at least 12 guys cant make it and after being told it was ok to play scott dunbar we are now told we are not giving us 1 day to get someone to play,we are allowed to bring in someone from another are but with 1 day to go in sure thats going to be pretty difficult, all the very best to all teams and just hope we can get someone to play

Ive got to say finding out that the format was changed to first to five frames after we arrived was shocking!
This is meant to be a relaxed and fun event with a good bit of pool but there is simply not enough frames to enjoy it i my opinion as some people only got to play 6 frames and if we had not won the plate i would have probably no bothered coming next year to be honest.

The format was the same as 2015, the paperwork shows this.
It gives each team a possible 45 frames over 5 matches.

Ross has stated it will go back to 2014 format, which was 3 x 5 frames for each match.
But there would only be three matches for the time allowed. Which is again 45 frames.

It is a possible 45 frames if every frame was played out but they was a lot of games where results were 5-0 5-1 etc so most people including us ladies only got 6 frames all weekend. It is supposed to be a relaxed enjoyable weekend of pool but as usual you do get the teams that take it more serious and field a very strong team so when you have a strong team up against a team of mates just wanted to enjoy a weekend of pool the results end as shown. I wasn't there last year due to family holiday and hated this format not only for the minimal games but because you couldn't even mingle with the teams and have a bit of banter as the games were finished within 20 minutes and previous experience with us we could be 5-0 down and then by next set bring it back to 5-5 this year you never stood a chance. I am delighted to hear Ross is putting it back to 2014 format because in my eyes this is the best weekend of pool every year, and the main one I look forward to and never miss.

Format was perfect in my opinion.
What's does it matter who takes it serious and who doesn't. You can't force people not to take it serious and vice versa. As long as you personally and as a team
Enjoy the weekend I don't see the issue.

After the deadline for payment has passed and when the payments have been collated to ensure everyone has paid. I'd estimate tomorrow (Monday) evening.
