Charity Pool Event and Raffle Sat 4 Feb Rileys Aberdeen

Please see below a press release from Tom at Rileys Aberdeen regarding a charity event on Saturday 4th February in Rileys:

Charity Pool Competition and Raffle in aid of Drum Ward, Royal Cornhill Hospital

Rileys Aberdeen are hosting a charity pool competition and raffle in aid of Drum Ward at Royal Cornhill Hospital on Saturday 4th February beginning at 1pm and running throughout the day.

Stephanie Kennedy, Deputy Charge Nurse, Drum Ward, Royal Cornhill Hospital said: “Just before Christmas the pool table on the ward was consigned to the scrap heap after several years of use and to aid our patients we have jointly decided with Rileys Aberdeen to raise the money to cover the cost of a replacement table through a pool competition and raffle. Throughout the day there will be a cash pool tournament for all levels of pool players along with other small events. We are looking to raise approximately £600 to cover the cost of the table, cues and balls.”

“Many people would consider a game of pool to be a small thing but to the patients of the hospital having a therapeutic occupation for their free time can be hugely beneficial. Playing pool can help people relax and socialise with others which promotes their recovery. Having a pool table on the ward can make a difference to the ward atmosphere”.

Non pool or snooker league players will receive a frame head start in their matches on the day if playing against a league player. Entry to the pool competition is £10 with 50% going towards the fund raising efforts. Registration for the event closes at 1pm on the day, so if you would like to enter come along before 1pm to Rileys at Bridge Place, Aberdeen.
Come along and support a great cause!
