I'm please to announce that this years Dunfermline Open is only 3 weeks away and is set to be the best yet! For the first time in Scotland, a tournament will be played solely on Simonis 861 cloth, using Aramith Pro Cups. The races this year will start at 6 and as always will rise throughout. This years sponsor City Hotels Group (Dunfermline) have very kindly added £400 sponsorship to the prize fund, which when added to the projected entries will produce an excellent pay out.
We are going to have two streamed tables this year, all done over Facebook to give as much coverage as possible. On the Saturday night there will be live entertainment and hotels can be arranged for anyone wanting to make a weekend of it.
This is a great opportunity for everyone to experience an event of this size for only £10!
The closing date for entries is Wednesday 19th July and the draw will be carried out the following day.

Well another year passes with a familiar result, Liam Dunster winning the Dunfermline Open for the third straight year. Slowly running out of superlatives to say about him. The consistency, patience and determination he shows in every game is frightening. He was odds on to go out in the first round when 5-4 down to Ivan Thompson before pulling off one of the shots of the tournament. From there on he never looked back and come through a very tough final against a great opponent. From a personal point of view Michael Collumb is my favourite player to watch and I'm glad he reached the final. He makes taking out a finish or creating chances from nothing look effortless with no fuss. I hope you keep coming back and get that win you deserve.
Another great run from Ryan Davie to get to the Semis. When you're in full flow you're a dream to watch, and it's a shame the rubs never come for you in the Semi against Liam. Kevin Corcoran was our other semi finalist and played some great pool today only to get pipped in the decider by Michael.
Thank you to everyone who entered, come to watch or followed the stream all weekend. I took on board the feedback I received last year and I hope it paid off. Thank you to City Hotels Ltd for sponsoring the event and pushing it to the next level. And finally thank you to the venue. A lot of money has been spent recently upgrading the tables to be the only Simonis clothed venue in Scotland and I hope this weekend has put you on the map.
