  IPA Ladies
by: secretary, 29-12-2017 11:40 PM (#1)

Over recent years the IPA tour has become renowned for showcasing a vast array of talents from all over the World – Christophe Lambert from France, Ivan Rizzo from Malta, Craig Marsh from Wales, Liam Dunster from Scotland, Paul Bennett from South Africa, Clint I’Anson from England and many many more belong on a long list that could fill this page – the crème de la creme of 8 ball pool, and recognised as such all over the globe.
At the 2017 World Championships many of the top lady players – Deb Burchell from England, Collette Henrikson from Northern Ireland, Leanne Evans from Wales etc were amongst a strong field who fought it out for the Ladies title and showcased the increasingly high standard that is the modern ladies game.
Fast forward to 2018, and as the main event grows and grows the IPA are delighted to announce a bespoke Ladies Section as another addition to the World of Blackball pool

The 2018 IPA Ladies section will lay the way for the Ladies game to have the professional set up it fully deserves, something not previously available in any ruleset, and the main thing needed to progress game.
The Ladies event will be held on the same weekend as the main IPA tour at each tour stop to add to the kudos and with a total cost of £200 for all 5 events. Run on a new format devised especially for the IPA, which provides an annual league table of ladies results as well as a Tour Winner at every event - every player will be guaranteed 3 matches per tour stop, 10 frames per match. The Ladies event is a bespoke standalone event and players will be required to attend all tour stops.

IPA Ladies will also be provided with an exclusive IPA ladies polo by Tour 1 and for this inaugural year it will not be compulsory to stay at the venue, although that option is still available to all.

16 places only are available and to secure a place in the new IPA Ladies Section please pay a £50 non-refundable deposit via the IPA shop and e-mail Viv Ruscoe, the IPA Ladies Representative with your details and any questions on vivvy43@live.co.uk
Look out for an all-new IPA Ladies Group on Facebook and as any information becomes available it will be posted on social media as well as the IPA website. The future is looking very bright for Ladies Pool - make sure you are part of what promises to be the premier Ladies Tour and the future of our sport.

How it works

Over the 5 tour stops
16 player round robin
Every player plays all opponents once over the season
3 matches per tour stop
I point per frame won for rankings
£1 per frame won in prize money

At each tour

16 players are put into 4 groups of 4
Group winners progress to Tour SF’s
• Group winners will be whoever wins most frames
• Group winners will be decided on count back and/or playoff in the case of a tie
Straight knockout Race to 6
Frames do not count towards rankings or league prize money
Separate prize money for tour winners

Finances without sponsorship

16 X £200 = £3200
£1 a frame won cost total £1200 (24 matches a tour stop 10 frames per match)
Leaves £2000
£400 prize fund per tour stop

General rules
• To preserve the integrity of the league Reserve list will be in place @£50 per event
• If a tour player cannot make a tour due to extenuating circumstances a reserve will be put in her place for that tour only as a direct replacement for that tour only
• Reserves will keep points won and be added to ranking system and original tour players will maintain 15 matches over the season
• £50 Non refundable deposit to be paid by 31st Jan 2018 to secure place. £50 to be paid by first tour, £100 Balance by Tour2
• Ladies do not have to stay in main hotel
• Ladies section is a standalone event. Ladies are also welcome to enter IPA Amateur and Open Events
