  Question for Masters players
by: FlyingScotsman, 26-02-2018 02:23 PM (#1)

With the calendar of pool events getting so full would any over 50 year old player have an objection if both the Senior and Masters SPA ranking events were held on the same day/weekend.

Different venues of course.

Not the Scottish Championships.

I was shot down in flames when I suggested this last year ... this is the best way to go ... don't think anyone wants to cram 4 competitions into roughly 4 summer months.

I never shot you down in flames mate, I said that as both events were ranking, then any player over the age of 40 should be allowed to play in both.

There are players out there who are over 50, who can still play at a good enough level to take on the young ones of just over 40 and its their right , if they want to play in both.

All players over 40 should allowed to play in both.
At least play one event on Saturday and the other on the Sunday.
If Saturday event runs late you have the opportunity to finish it on the Sunday.
So for that reason Seniors should be played on the Saturday.
Since this event has most players.
Also should be the one Venue both days giving the players who have to travel any distance the opportunity,
to maybe stay over for next event.

Son that's out of the question, the reason why, is simple, players in the Senior and Masters section are asking for one day.

so yes they will be one day events but held over one weekend, so not on.
