  Seniors ranking event two.
by: FlyingScotsman, 20-03-2018 12:31 PM (#1)

The next Senior ranking event will take place at the Red Triangle on Sunday 20th May.

However since the last event was well supported the Senior committee have decided to have a back up club and Cue Here has agreed to take players that day as well.

So how will it go, well if the event gets more than 72 players, a number of them will be drawn to play their first few rounds at Cue Here and the winners will then go to the Red Triangle to finish off the event.

Players have asked to play these events in one day but unless a club has enough tables to cope with the amount of entries, then it has to be done this way.

So even if we get the same entries like last time, we will using a total of 16 tables from both clubs, be able to finish it in one day quite early, even with some of the slow players entering.

So if you want in, the same rules like last time, put your name down here and you will have until one week before the event to pull out but once in the draw, even if you fail to attend, you pay the entry fee of 10.

The prize fund will be the total number in the draw and if short, then it will be made up from the outstanding payments from players who have still to pay that to the Senior committee, so 120 in draw, then 1200 in prize money paid that day.

The first event was played down to the last 8 and then stopped, so no winner there, all 8 players will get points for getting to last 8 and all prize money from the quarters on will be divided by the 8 players.

This is the reason we need a back up club incase we once again get a large entry, however when the Senior committee look at this for next season I feel they must also look to use the clubs with lots of tables, to finish it off in one day.

sorry son, my fault I put down the Masters date.

As its a ranking event the Senior and Masters cannot be on the same date.

Changed to the 20th May.
