Can we get a breakdown of how much you expect the raise from the new fees , and what it's going to be spent on .
As per Maxi's comment on minutes and accounts could this get done ,
I'll send a formal request to the Secretary.
Thanks ,

I think everyone is seriously overlooking this, when exactly was the last time the SPA accounts were made available? Why exactly were they not presented today despite this meeting being specifically held to view the accounts.

Do you really expect a suitable answer or even a response to this basic and important question?

Graham, in answer to your question, the accounts were passed to the membership during 2017 for the 2016 end of year. Not sure exactly when but I am sure someone will be able to confirm that for you.

I apologies but the 2017 accounts are still with the auditor.
I lost a lot of data as explained at the last meeting as my data drive crashed. I have been working with Paul to get this rectified and it is my understanding that the accounts are near completion, nothing more of that you have my word.
To all the members, I am sorry they weren't presented at the meeting and that I couldn't make it to explain where we are at, I had to work.
As soon as the accounts are ready I will send them to the executive for distribution to the members.
I plan to send all account information to the auditor at the beginning of December in order that the accounts for this year can be ready for the AGM in March 2019.
I am sorry for the delay.

Right had a really good look at all this and believe totally that the IMs must change but I also think that we have to inform our members of this change by giving them another year based on the system we have at present.

The reason is simple , the more I think about it the more I think that players who get into the top 64 believe they would be seeded next year and so they should.

Do my proposal to you both is this, we change what we can to make the events better but keep the 256 there this year but inform ALL that in 2020 we will be going down to one venue with 128 players with the top 16 seeded, these players pay 125 pounds entry fee, as itís fairer that way.

So here are my thoughts on the changes we can make to 2019 , starting with the number of clubs we use, only two but each club has to have at least 12 tables, times I have checked and they work out fine.

Next cloths in tables have to be the same .

Next only four IM events a year, no this or that , if you win money or not.

Two in the early part of the year and two in the later part of the year.

Bring in one or even both the seniors and masters Scottish early, so that gives us more dates later in year for IMs.

Next no shows, players have to inform the SPA or their rep at least 24 hours before otherwise they get a yellow card, they do not get one if they inform us but if not then if it happens again , then they miss out on the rest of the IMs that year or the first one the following year, if itís the last one that year.

Next only clubs with great wfi get the IMs.

The four clubs I have in mind are Styx Players lounge TJs and Pockets Dalkeith.

Each of these venues gets used for two IMs and one each for the final.

Next frames go up from the last 16 stage, along with changing the rankings to give points to players from earlier in the draw.

These are my ideas can u come back with your thoughts please.

Posting this as it gives more information on the changes to the IMs next year and the year after that.

Can I also add one other thing, the SPA will be adding another event for 2019 along the same lines as the WMc and for 2020 there will be three, I believe that with all the tours we have in our country today, they are really for the top players from that area and as such I will be concentrating on developing the grassroots sections.

Youíve looked at timings and have decided that having 12 tables mean you can play 128 players in one venue.

Ross for years and years and years we have been playing 128 at one venue where there has only been 7 or 8 tables and it has always been finished so donít understand why itís all of sudden required to have 12...

Yet again all the clubs who have supported the SPA get shat on from great height.

No doubt Scottish and doubles will require 12 tables as well...

Maxi, firstly I get clubs saying there is no value for hosting an IM final but as soon as I say I want to only use clubs with 12 or more tables I get this.

I know we can do it with 8 tables Maxi but that is based on the old race,I want to increase the race and all this takes time,

The reason I am reducing the IMs to just four is because I want to bring them back to the best and with that a big part is the race mate.

The Scottish next year will require 16 and once the EBA inform me of their dates, I can secure a hotel again for the Scottish as I have secured the tables and hopefully enough sponsorship to once again take it back to a hotel.

All clubs and we now have 41 in Scotland will be looked at and you do know me when I say there will be other events that I will be asking the old clubs who as you say have supported the SPA since day one to take but it cannot be the IMs if I am to make them better again.

Ross there has never been value in a venue holding an IM, probably only place that made a profit was the Chieftain as they had rooms taken etc.

And I did not post that for my own club as I donít want to host any IMs, but itís been a real kick in the teeth the last couple of years with the same clubs getting more and more events at the expense of others who have bent over backwards to help the SPA in the past. There is absolutely no loyalty from the SPA.
