Scottish Singles 2007

Scottish Pool Association Scottish Singles Champions 2007
Glen Pavillion, Dunfermline

  Alex McDowell

Scottish Singles final 2007
Alex McDowell 8 v 7 Aldo McLeod

Incredible level of consistency shown by the BigDollop here, as 2007 is Alex's third Scottish Singles title, and his second in 3 years. It's Aldo's first major final, and he fought hard before succumbing in a final frame decider. An excellent final to watch.

  Linda Gillies

Kim's Cars Scottish Ladies Singles 2007
Linda Gillies 7 v 2 Leanne Evans

A model of consistency in the Ladies game, Linda secured her 7th singles title, and made it look very easy indeed. However, easy it was not, as Leanne is herself a very accomplished player, and she was not for handing the title to Linda. Linda's major finals experience told in the end though as she claimed the title.

  Liam Walker

Scottish Learning Disabilities Singles final 2007
Liam Walker 6 v 2 Tommy McIntyre

The third title for defending champion Liam, defeating Tommy, quite comfortably in what was a top class final to watch.

  Alex Courtney

Scottish Physical Disabilities Singles final 2007
Alex Courtney 6 v 1 Scott Jobling

Another defending champion defends his title. Alec Courtney of Ayrshire takes this title for the fourth year on the trot, this time by convincingly defeating youngster Scott Jobling of Berwick.

  David Riggins

Scottish Under 21 singles final 2007
David Riggins 7 v 5 Hugh Thomson

David's last year in the Youths, junior and Under 21s set up culminated in success in the Under 21s singles final by frames to against Hugh Thomson of Ayr. Well done David, and unlucky Hugh, although I daresay your first title will not be too far away.

  Calum McKinnon

Scottish Youth singles final 2007
Calum McKinnon 7 v 6 John Laird

A first title for Calum, who is a relatively new name to me, and also a first final for his opponent. John had his chances to win this, but Calum held himself together enough to take the championship in the deciding frame.

Previous winners

  Martyn Brown

Scottish Junior singles final 2007
Martyn Brown 7 v 5 Scott Higgins

A first title for Nairn's Martyn also, beating his fellow Cork world championship winning team mate, Scott Higgins 7-5 in the final. Both young men are fantastic players, with the right sort of talent and temperament for the game and both will succeed in the future I'm sure.
